In April of 2021, Arley Wieler, a valued, active founding member of the Saskatoon Preschool Foundation, passed away due to cancer.  

Arley volunteered with the SPF for over 30 years, selflessly serving many roles.  The most notable role was that as the Subsidy Committee Lead, in which Arley spent countless hours reviewing, reaching out and communicating with the families of applicants.  Arley compassionately learned about the family’s circumstance and affirmed their decision to prioritize their preschooler’s opportunity for preschool programming and community building.  

Arley was a selfless leader with an infectious genuine smile, lighthearted sense of humour and a compassionate heart. His dedication was admired and his advocacy for early childhood education has been impactful.  

We are forever grateful for Arley’s knowledge, experience and passion as an educator, his sound judgment, and his compassion for the most vulnerable in our community.  

Arley will be remembered as generous, wonderful educator, community volunteer, and great friend to many! 

Arley is so dearly missed by the Saskatoon Preschool Foundation.
